Week 9 and 10 discussion
We are discussing relational database design during the two weeks. Microsoft ACCESS is a popular desktop relational database management system. Usually when you install ACCESS, a sample database Northwind is installed with it. Open ACCESS, go to Help ->Sample Databases... ->Northwind Sample Database to open the sample databse Northwind. Answer following questions based on what is in the database:
1. How many tables are there in the database?
2. How many queries are there in the database?
3. Go to Tools->Relationships. What is the relationship between tables Shippers and Customers? Please justify your answer.
4. If you want get extra credits for your assignment 5, take a look at Forms and Reports in the sample database. Using the class handouts to learn how to implement them in ACCESS.
